Let's protect eachother against respiratory infections.

60 new coronavirus infections detected

On Friday 6 March, 771 samples were analysed by the network of the KULeuven reference hospital. 60 tested positive at Covid-19 (40 in Flanders, 5 in Brussels and 15 in Wallonia). So far, a total of 169 cases of Covid-19 infections have been detected in Belgium. Most of the positive patients have recently travelled, but we are seeing more and more infections at local level.

The number of cases detected has not doubled. It is therefore possible that the return effect of travellers from northern Italy is coming to an end. Strict isolation of all Covid-19 patients is crucial. In most cases this can be done at home, when patients have light symptoms (upper respiratory tract infections).
