5 new cases of Covid-19 detected during the past night

The reference laboratory of the KULeuven made 243 tests during the night. Their outcome is 5 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus. This increasing amount of cases and tests coincides with the return of several of our fellow countrymen from spring holidays.

All these new cases are persons returning from a trip in Northern Italy. All patients show the same moderate symptoms such as fever, flu and coughing.

2 patients live in Flanders, 1 comes from Brussels and 2 from Wallonia. They are presently receiving appropriate care in a secured environment.

All patients are closely followed by the doctors of the health inspection in their respective region. These health inspectors also examine and follow the people who have been in contact with the patients since their return.
